Kakching: In a concerted effort to foster regional development, self-reliance and peace, the Assam Rifles has executed dual community empowerment initiatives targeting youth and women across various districts of Manipur. These tailored programmes underline a robust strategy of nation-building by equipping the local population with sustainable career pathways and vocational expertise.
As part of these grassroots interventions, an exhaustive five-month Agniveer Pre-Recruitment Training Programme has been underway since April 2026 across the valley and border villages of Kakching and Chandel districts. Facilitated by Assam Rifles personnel, the exhaustive curriculum covers physical fitness, endurance runs, entrance tests, obstacle training, documentation and recruitment procedures to instill greater confidence. The trainees expressed deep gratitude to the Assam Rifles personnel for providing professional guidance and motivational support to build their performance and confidence.

Running since 26 March 2026, the initiative provided hands-on training to 15 local women under expert guidance to promote sustainable livelihoods and financial independence. At the culmination, Assam Rifles personnel interacted with the participants, encouraging them to utilise these skills effectively for their families’ economic well-being.
