Chandel: “Jan Kalyan Shivir” a three-day Campaign for Public Welfare Schemes, commenced today at the Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat, Chandel District, with Hemant Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, formally inaugurating the programme. The camp will continue till June 19, 2026.

Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Hemant Kumar, IAS, appreciated the efforts of all departments and district officials for successfully organizing the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir at Chandel District.

He urged all departments to adopt a beneficiary-centric approach and intensify awareness campaigns to ensure maximum enrollment under various government welfare schemes. Stressing the need for effective service delivery, he instructed departments to maintain proper records of beneficiaries and benefits provided during the camp.

The Deputy Commissioner directed  all District Level Officers (DLOs) to set up departmental stalls for enrolment of eligible beneficiaries under different schemes and for distribution of pending benefits and services to the public and encouraged the public to visit the departmental stalls and avail the services and benefits being offered during the Shivir.

Md  Firoz Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chandel,  Reikimdaar Khaling, SDO, Chandel, Md Tajuddin, SDO, Chakpikarong, Mohammed Gayasuddin Khan, SDO, Khengjoi, N. Munal, DFO, Chandel, Dr. Joyson Mathew Monsang, CMO, Chandel, District Levell Officers, Village Chiefs, beneficiaries of various schemes also attended the launching programme.

More than 15 departments, including Health, Social Welfare, Forest, Horticulture, Fisheries, CAF&PD, MSPDCL, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Sciences, District Child Protection Unit, MSRLM etc set up stalls at the hall.

As part of the programme, beneficiaries of the District Forest Department, District Fisheries Department and Autonomous District Council (ADC), Chandel were provided with relevant materials and assistance. Mass registration of newly eligible beneficiaries under various welfare and development schemes was also held at the spot.

The observance will conclude on June 19, 2026, with a series of public outreach activities aimed at promoting inclusive development and citizen-centric governance.
