Senapati: TheDeputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, who also holds the portfolios of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, today flagged off a fleet of vehicles for Solid Waste Management at the Autonomous District Council (ADC), Senapati. The procurement of these vehicles was funded under the 4th State Finance Commission (SFC) Grants.
The newly vehicles six tippers and two dumpers dedicated to improving waste management operations across the district will service in key sectors including Senapati-Karong area, Tadubi and Makhre Padei area, Mao-Inu Choro area, and Purul and Oinam (Model Village) area.
It may be mentioned that, under the 15th Finance Commission, several initiatives related to solid waste management are being implemented by the ADC, Senapati. These include the construction of collection and segregation centres at 13 locations, the establishment of a Material Recovery Facility at the Kathikho Karong Waste Management Site, the installation of plastic bottle banks, and the procurement of a JCB earthmover, among other projects. The total allocation for solid waste management activities under the 15th Finance Commission stands at ₹2.90 crore.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by J. Kumo Sha, MLA of 47-Karong (ST) Assembly Constituency; Dharun Kumar S, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati; Adahrii Maheo, MCS, Chief Executive Officer, ADC Senapati; alongside staff members of the ADC, Senapati; and local community leaders.
