Manipur horticulture and soil conservation department invites applications for 282 contract posts

Imphal: The Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur, has invited applications from intending and eligible candidates for engagement on contract basis against 282 vacant posts in various categories under the Department.

According to a notification issued by the Director, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, the vacancies include 67 posts of Assistant Agriculture Officer/Equivalent, 34 posts of Field Assistant/Equivalent, 56 posts of LDC/Office Assistant-cum-Computer Operator, 16 posts of Fieldman, 21 posts of Mali, 29 posts of Peon, 29 posts of Peon-cum-Chowkidar, 19 posts of Chowkidar and 11 posts of Laboratory Attendant.

Candidates applying should be a citizen of India and permanent resident of the State of Manipur. The eligible and willing candidates should be sponsored by concerned Employment Exchange and should be able to speak Manipuri or any of the notified Schedule Tribe dialects of Manipur. Reservation for PwD and Meritorious Sportspersons shall be applicable as per existing Government rules.

The engagement shall be purely on contract basis from the date of signing of the contract agreement up to the close of the financial year and may be extended from time to time as per requirement. A one-time age relaxation of two years above the prescribed upper age limit has also been provided.

Candidates willing to avail the Meritorious Sports Quota should furnish duly filled in issued by the Department of Personnel, Government of Manipur relating to the Appointment of Sportspersons to Class III & IV posts in relaxation of the Employment Exchange Procedure whichever is relevant. The relevant Forms are uploaded in Directorate’s Website www.horticulture.mn.gov.in for convenience of all.

The mode of selection for engagement of eligible candidates shall be on the basis of written test and viva voce for the post of Asst. Agriculture Officer/Equivalent (Group B). The mode of selection for engagement of eligible candidates shall be on the basis of written test only for the posts of Field Assistant/equivalent (Group C) and all Group D which shall be as per the scheme of examination notified by the Department of Personnel, Government of Manipur.

Prescribed application forms and detailed information can be downloaded from the Department’s official website. Candidates applying for more than one post are required to submit separate applications and fees for each post. However, candidates may apply for only one post in each of Group-B, Group-C and Group-D categories.

The notification has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and has been uploaded on the Department’s official website www.horticulture.mn.gov.in for information of the general public.
