Imphal: With an aim to inculcate the habit of planting trees and promote environmental conservation, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh led others in planting tree saplings in connection with the World Environment Day 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future” at the 50-Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital, Lamphelpat, Imphal West, today.
Upon his arrival at the venue, the Chief Minister was warmly received by the Additional Director (AYUSH), Dr. S. Bishwanath Sharma.
As part of the programme, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, along with Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Sumant Singh, participated in the plantation of medicinal plants. The species planted included Arjuna and Ashoka respectively, both known for their medicinal significance.
Following the plantation activity, the Chief Minister inspected the 50-Bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital to assess the facilities and services available at the institution. The programme organised by the Directorate of AYUSH was attended by officials of the Department
