CM Yumnam Khemchand takes oath as president of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board

CM stated that needs and requirements regarding the proper maintenance of the temple complex can be looked into through discussion in the Board meeting.

Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh took oath as President of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) at an oath taking and reception ceremony, held today at the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Complex located at Haying Khongbal Uphong Yumpham, Imphal.

On his arrival at the temple complex, Yumnam Khemchand was accorded a warm welcome by the members of LSTB, priest, priestess and devotees among others.

Addressing the gathering, after taking oath as president of the Board, the Chief Minister expressed that preserving culture and traditions has been a requisite for taking a society to the path of progress and development. He assured that he too would put all possible efforts to take forward the State’s culture and traditions.

Stressing the need to follow proper rules and guidelines while taking up any activities, Yumnam Khemchand stated that needs and requirements regarding the proper maintenance of the temple complex can be looked into through discussion in the Board meeting.

While taking concern on the present law and order situation of the State, he prayed for a peace and progressive Manipur.

The Chief Minister was felicitated by members of Kabui, Chothe and Maring communities with traditional shawls.

As a part of the programme, Yumnam Khemchand also planted a tree sapling inside the temple complex.
