Imphal: As part of its enduring commitment to fostering peace and stability in Manipur, Assam Rifles organised a significant outreach programme at its Nambol base in the Bishnupur district on 30 May 2026. The initiative served as a platform for direct engagement with community representatives, aiming to bridge the gap between security forces and civil society. The interaction saw the active participation of 16 Meira Paibis from Nambol Sabal Lekei, who voiced their concerns regarding the impact of the prevailing security situation on daily life.
The dialogue underscored the challenges faced by students, the elderly, women, and daily wage earners, particularly regarding access to essential services like healthcare and education. In response, the 20 personnel representing the force highlighted ongoing humanitarian efforts, including medical camps in remote areas, training programmes for recruitment rallies, and sustained mentorship initiatives for local youth. By emphasising a people-centric approach, the force reiterated its dedication to restoring normalcy and harmony.
To counter the growing influence of misinformation, the force urged participants to rely solely on authenticated information. The interaction successfully reinforced mutual trust, with the community acknowledging the force’s role in providing security and welfare support. This collaborative spirit reaffirmed the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in maintaining a secure and peaceful environment across the region.
