Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inaugurated a Manipur Police Museum at the 1st Manipur Rifles (MR), Imphal, today.
Upon his arrival at the 1st Manipur Rifles, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by the Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, Shri Rajiv Singh and other high ranking police officers.
Yumnam Khemchand Singh was briefed by the DGP and Commanding Officer (CO), 1st MR, Khoisnam Sarma Devi, on the displayed antique weapons which were used during the Second World War, old archived photographs of the Manipur Police and radio transceivers of very high frequency used by the Manipur Police in the late 1990s.
Later, the Chief Minister paid a visit at the Manipur Police Headquarters located at Mantripukhri and inaugurated a creche room located at the ground floor. He was introduced to different rooms and facilities including of the Headquarters including the DGP’s office situated at the first floor. Later, a meeting with senior police officials was held at Conference Room Block-A.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister sees the various facilities available at the 5th floor of the Police Headquarters which includes a gym, auditorium hall, Conference Room Block-B, aerobic and yoga room, and the officers’ lounge.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the creche room located on the ground floor of the Police Headquarters.
