Imphal: Ningshen Worngam, IPS, IGP (Zone-II), Manipur chaired a meeting convened at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat (DC Office), Bishnupur regarding issues related to the security coverage for the cultivation of Kharif paddy 2026 at fringe areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur Districts. Discussions were also held regarding the security arrangements as well as resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Pooja Elangbam, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur District; Dharun Kumar S., IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur District; Commander 59 Mountain Brigade Tac HQ, Loukoipat; Ksh. Ravikumar Singh, IPS SP, Bishnupur District; Gaurav Dogra, IPS, SP, Churachandpur District; Commanding Officers (COs) of Security Forces attended the meeting.
The district Superintendent of Police (SPs) of Bishnupur and Churachandpur highlighted the feasible areas of their respective districts which may require security arrangements for the Kharif cultivation. Regarding the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), DC, Bishnupur, informed that special emphasis is given on the resettlement of the IDPs.
After the interaction with the officials, Ningshen said that co-ordination is required among the officials of Bishnupur and Churachandpur district to handle the issue of security considering the prevailing law and order situation in both the district.
