Imphal: In a heartwarming gesture aimed at fostering social harmony and empowering the younger generation amidst challenging conditions, a contingent of 12 Assam Rifles personnel organised a compassionate fellowship breakfast and comprehensive outreach programme at Morning Star Organisation Children Home in Nambol, Bishnupur district on 17 May 2026. This benevolent initiative actively engaged 26 children, including orphans and individuals from single-parent households, providing them with essential emotional anchoring and deep reassurance.
Shedding the traditional rigidity of uniform and rank, the personnel interacted closely with the young residents and caretaker staff as elder guardians under the open sky. During this meaningful bonding session, the troops distributed useful stationery items, educational gifts and chocolates, sparking visible joy, excitement and silent gratitude among the children. Through inspiring narratives of courage, the personnel motivated the youth to embrace discipline, pursue education diligently and overcome personal hardships to realize their dreams. Beyond their primary security mandates and while remaining operationally committed at all times, such empathetic initiatives demonstrate how the force consistently prioritises local welfare.
