Imphal: Further to his visit to Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Garrisons on 05 May 2026, Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, continued his tour of Manipur with visits to Churachandpur and Pallel Garrisons on 06 May 2026. He was accompanied by Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and other senior officials, reflecting the strong presence of Corps leadership during the review.
At Headquarters 27 Sector Assam Rifles in Churachandpur, the Corps Commander was briefed on the prevailing security situation by the Sector Commander. He also visited the “Kinepna” Women Empowerment Centre, where he interacted with internally displaced women and commended the initiatives supporting their welfare.
In Pallel, Lieutenant General Kalia reviewed operational preparedness and internal security measures with Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles. He appreciated the formation’s effective conduct of Counter Insurgency operations and its role in maintaining stability in the valley. His interaction with personnel highlighted the importance of professionalism and morale in sustaining operational effectiveness.
The visit also included community-focused engagements. He toured the Community Radio Station, learning of its role in outreach and awareness, and interacted with youth undergoing vocational training under the Skill Development Programme. At the Cultural Hall, he witnessed activities showcasing civil-military cooperation and cultural integration. The day’s programme reinforced the Corps Commander’s emphasis on operational readiness, community partnership and synergy with civil administration and sister security
