Bishnupur : Position holders from Bishnupur District in the Higher Secondary Examination, 2026, in both the Science and Arts streams were felicitated by Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur Pooja Elangbam, at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Pooja Elangbam congratulated the students for securing positions in the Higher Secondary Examination, 2026. She encouraged them to develop the skill of critical thinking from this stage of their lives, stating that it would play a crucial role in shaping their future. She also advised them that while pursuing their academic and career goals, it is equally important not to neglect their hobbies, as these contribute to the all-round development of an individual.
Pooja Elangbam stressed the importance of cultivating reading habits, maintaining the company of good friends, and most importantly, building the confidence to express themselves in every situation. She remarked that even the greatest ideas are of little value if left unexpressed.
The DC also appealed to parents to continuously motivate their children, guide them to become better human beings, and avoid pressuring them into careers they are not interested in. Instead, she urged parents to stay in tune with their children’s aspirations and support them in achieving their goals.
Organised by the District Administration Bishnupur, the felicitation programme was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro, AC to DC Shagolsem Gunamani, and other officials.
As a gesture of encouragement, the students were presented with books by the DC and ADC. The students also interacted with the officials, shared their aspirations in life, and expressed their gratitude for the encouragement and guidance they received.
