Senapati: Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho on Saturday had stated that personal fights should not turn into communal. This statement was made by the Deputy Chief Minister on one of his first programs at the 17th Motbung Veng Tournament, 2026 after he assumed the office as part of peace initiative.
The Deputy Chief Minister while addressing the gathering at Motbung urged the people of the region to unite together and not to waste time in conflict by keeping aside the ideology of the forefathers, citing the Nagas lived the life of head hunters in the past.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho declared that peace is the only solution to bring progress and development. “Motbung is a gifted land where the people itself has peace loving attitude,” he said urging the people to live one’s life with happiness in togetherness. He also conveyed the wishes and message of Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand who has assured to initiate Govt programmes and policies especially for IDPs at the earliest.
He reminded of the past history during Kuki-Naga conflict where Motbung people stood for peace and even a choir from Motbung visited Punanamei village, a Mao Naga village in Senapati district during the peak of the conflict.
While addressing the media at Motbung, Dy. CM Losii Dikho expressed his happiness to visit the village/town which he called as peace loving people in the region. With the restoration of the popular Govt in the state, he said that he felt the need to go and reach out to the people to tell the initiative of the Govt in bringing back peace and normalcy in the region. Under the initiative of the Prime Minister, union Home minister and State chief minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho stated that they have been given a big responsibility to reach out to the people and giving their commitment stating tonr store peace in the region.
Terming as the first step under peace mission, Losii Dikho stated that with peace, everything is possible.
The Dy. CM also mentioned that with the demand of the people to bring back peace, the state Govt has been giving its best to bring back peace in the region.
He said that he was so happy to meet the people of the region who are so delighted to welcome him whom he said people of the area are so peace loving through his association with them with the hope that people of the area could do something. He mentioned that even during the Kuki Naga crisis, the Dy. CM stated that people of Motbung were the one who initiated peace between the Kukis and Nagas. Even during the peak of the crisis, people from Motbung came to Mao in Naga areas and had fellowship together that gave the message of peace to people of other communities. Having visited their place, the Deputy Chief Minister is optimistic to bring a positive impact of his visit. With the permission of the state chief minister, the Deputy Chief Minister asserted that he has full hope to bring a positive response of his visit to the place by witnessing a big crowd welcoming him to the place.
