Kohima: The Local Board of Administration (LBA) meeting was held at Sainik School, Imphal in Manipur on Tuesday. Major General SS Kartikeya, SM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army based at Leimakhong, chaired the meeting. As the Chairman of LBA, Sainik School Imphal, GOC Maj Gen Kartikeya presided over the session.
Priya Kartikeya, Chairperson of the Family Welfare Organisation, Red Shield Division, also visited the school to grace the occasion.

Officiating Principal Lt Col SK Singh presented a comprehensive brief on the recent achievements and infrastructure developments of the institution, expressing his gratitude for the invaluable support of the LBA Chairman and the Army.
In his address to over 500 cadets, including 39 girl cadets, at the Vikram Batra Auditorium, the Chairman shared insights about the glorious history and role of the Indian Army in national security, as well as his vast experience serving across the country.

He also felicitated outstanding teachers and administrative staff for their dedicated efforts in nurturing young minds and contributing to the overall development of the school.
Priya Kartikeya, an eminent career educationist with vast experience in teaching at reputable colleges, visited the girls’ hostel and interacted with the girl cadets and teachers. She emphasized the importance of overall development and career opportunities for women. The school currently has 40 girl cadets.

During her visit, she also toured the Sainik Foundation School within the Sainik School premises and planted a tree with the children to promote environmental awareness and the importance of maintaining a serene environment.
The officiating principal and staff of Sainik School Imphal expressed their heartfelt appreciation to General and Mrs. Kartikeya for their guidance, support, and encouragement in achieving the honorable tasks bestowed upon the school.
