Imphal: Security Forces under the aegis of IGAR (S) assisted in destruction of illicit poppy cultivation spanning over 40 acres in the Ukhrul district on 15 November 2023.
As part of the “War on Drugs” campaign, in a joint operation executed by security forces, Ukhrul Police and Forest Department destroyed poppy cultivation over 40 acres in areas between Phadang and Champhung village, Ukhrul district which was initially discovered in a joint survey on 01 Nov 2023.
This destruction being part of the campaign “War on Drugs” sends a strong message to the people who are explicitly involved in the cultivation of illegal poppy in the region, according to a press note from the PRO, HQ, IGAR(S).
