UNIVARTA special correspondent Arun Singh passes away

New Delhi: Arun Singh, special correspondent of leading news agency UNIVARTA, passed away at his residence here on Saturday evening, family sources said.

He was 57 and left behind his father, wife, a son and a daughter.

The sources said Singh had gone out for some time in the evening, On returning home, he complained of pain in his hands and feet. Soon after, he collapsed.

He started his services as a trainee journalist in the Patna Bureau of UNIVARTA in 1991, and later became its Dhanbad Bureau Chief, and also served in the Chandigarh Bureau.

He was transferred from Chandigarh in 2008 and joined UNIVARTA’s headquarters in Delhi.

He was also a member of the management committee of United News of India for a few months.
