Imphal: Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a ‘Felicitation Ceremony in honour of Asian Games Bronze Medalist Salam Sunil Singh’ of Moirang village of Bishnupur District (Manipur) at Sendra on October 17, 2023.
Salam Sunil Singh won the Bronze medal in the Men’s Canoe Double 1000 meter event in the Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China from 23 September to 08 October 2023.
Salam Sunil Singh has done the state and the country proud and he is a true role model for the youth of the state to follow. His achievement emphasizes the fact that hard work, determination and working towards the right goals, lead one to individual success in life and also contribute towards the betterment of society and the nation-building process.
The felicitation ceremony was an opportunity for Assam Rifles to recognize this great feat of Sunil and encourage excellence in sports. The coaching staff of Salam Sunil Singh were also felicitated on the occasion
Sunil and his coaches appreciated the initiative of Assam Rifles to promote sports activities and in particular providing conducive environment for youth to excel in water sports in and around Loktak Lake, said a press note from PRO Cell, IGAR(S) .
