Imphal: The Government of Manipur has imposed a curfew from 8 pm to 4 am in the entire state in view of the exponential increase of infections in the last fortnight.
The order to the effect was issued by the Chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, Dr Rajesh Kumar on April 16, 2021.
The order, however, exempts (i) all goods carrier vehicles including medical oxygen.
(ii) All essential establishments like pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, power supply, PHED, municipal office engaged in cleaning, fire service and medical manufacturing plants.
(iii) All personnel of establishments mentioned in (ii) including veterinary services and
(iv) All government officials who have been assigned specific duties of Covid-19 management and other specific duties.
The order further instructed all Deputy Commissioner to issue orders under CrPC and enforce their strict compliance.
