Manipur Governor, CM Biren extend Mahavir Jayanti greetings

N Biren said, “let us remind ourselves to be kinder and more compassionate towards others” and prayed that “lord Mahavir guide us on the right path to enjoy a blessed life”.

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh greeted the people of Manipur, especially, Jain brothers and sisters on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

In her message, Governor Uikey said, “Lord Mahavir, an apostle of peace and non-violence, showed humanity the path to salvation through love, compassion, mercy and abdication of material elements”. Stating that Lord Mahavir’s teachings transcend all barriers, she said “his everlasting message of peaceful co-existence rings true even now”.

“While remembering and celebrating the birth anniversary of this apostle of peace, let us rededicate to follow the spiritual and ethical path propounded by him and follow his values of living in harmony and brotherhood”, Governor Uikey added..

In his message on this occasion, Chief Minister, N Biren Singh said, Lord Mahavir, an apostle of truth and righteousness, was the 24th and the last Tirthankara of the Jain faith. He propounded that ahimsa is the supreme moral virtue. he stressed that all living beings irrespective of size, shape, form, or how spiritually developed or undeveloped, are all equal. 

While observing this auspicious occasion, N Biren said, “let us remind ourselves to be kinder and more compassionate towards others” and prayed that “lord Mahavir guide us on the right path to enjoy a blessed life”.
