Health Minister launches portal of Manipur Nursing Council

Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh said the web portal will be a boon for those who are in the nursing profession.

Imphal: Manipur Health & IPR Minister, Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh launched the official web portal of Manipur Nursing Council Tuesday in a function held at Classic Hotel, North AOC, Imphal.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh said the web portal will be a boon for those who are in the nursing profession. The issues and problems faced by nursing students will no longer be there. They can now register themselves with a click of the mouse without putting in physical effort. It is a great opportunity for the medical department, he added. 

The Minister informed that according to the 2021 report, 1,92,679 ANM nurses, 1,33,299 GNM nurses and 17,141 Post Graduate nurses are produced in India every year. The number has declined during recent years. Our nurses have been spread to other countries. There are demands for Manipuri nurses abroad. Nurses of the state are employed all over the country and abroad, the Minister added.

He appealed to the nursing community to serve with commitment and dedication. The caring service of the nurses will always be remembered. He also appreciated the dedicative service of the nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The online mode is also becoming the new option of the age. This will enable to search data of the registered nurses, he said. 

 Director, Health Services Manipur, Dr. Kh. Sasheekumar Mangang, Director AYUSH, Imphal, Dr. Ak. Lokendro Singh, Director NHM, Manipur, Dr. Somorjit Ningombam, Registrar, Manipur Nursing Council, Dr. Aribam Jamuna Devi also graced the occasion as President and Guests of Honor respectively. Officials and staff of Manipur Nursing Council and Doctors and others also attended the event.
