Gangtok: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, participated virtually from here, in the ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ programme, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at Varanasi, Uttrakhand on Friday.
The programme on the occasion of WTB Day was hosted by Union Health Ministry ,led by Minister Mansukh Madviya in association with ‘Stop TB entity of UN.
Governor of Sikkim,has adopted 10 TB patients,here on Friday,while observing World TB Day,at Raj Bhawan. The programme held at the instance of the Governor, saw participation of District TB cell Doctors and Raj Bhawan staff also.In what appeared to be a very kind gesture,he handed over Rs 1.20 Lakhs, in support of TB patients, to District TB cell.
‘India has set 2025 as the target to eradicate TB under PM Narendra Modi.It is Five Years before the World target 2030.Sikkim needs to take a firm stand on it. As a State,should shoulder our responsibility with the country and be a part of such schemes ,’ said Governor.
