Gangtok: Chief Minister PS Tamang congratulated the newly elected Councillors of Gangtok Municipal Corporation and six other Nagar Panchayats.
“The Municipality election has ushered in a new era of politics in the state, paving the way for the independent candidates to contest,” said the chief minister, who is presently in Gujarat.
“We feel optimistic and look forward to working with the councillors to build a new and better Sikkim,” he added.
This was the third urban local body poll after the system was discontinued earlier.
