Imphal: Three persons died when they were knocked down by a four-wheeler in this Manipur capital, an official said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Khurai Chaithabi area on Tuesday night.
The vehicle having Uttar Pradesh registration number sped away from the spot, but has now been seized following a hectic search, police said.
The police has initiated a probe and checked the CCTV video footage installed along the road of Khurai, Khuman Lampak, and other suspected locations to identify the vehicle.
The driver has been arrested. He was allegedly dismantling his vehicle to destroy the evidence at a workshop, police said.
