Imphal: On the sacred and auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, 2022, Governor of Manipur L a Ganesan and Chief Minister N Biren Singh extended greetings the people of Manipur, especially the Jain brethren.
In his message, governor Ganesan said that “Lord Mahavira, an apostle of peace and non-violence, showed humanity the path to salvation through love, compassion mercy and abdication of material elements. His teachings transcend all barriers and His everlasting message of peaceful co-existence rings true even now”.
“While remembering the celebrating the birth of this apostle of peace, let us re-dedicate to follow the spiritual and ethical path propounded by Him and follow his values of living in harmony and brotherhood”, he added.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh in his message on this auspicious occasion said that “Lord Mahabir was one of the most charismatic and influential leaders to have walked amongst us. He is considered to the supreme preacher of ahimsa ever born.”
Biren Singh further added that lord Mahabir’s message of “non-violence, truth, honesty, selflessness and sacrifice are timeless and full of universal compassion.” Lord Mahabir emphasized that “all living beings, including plants and animals, are equal and should be treated with love and respect.”
