Dispur: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated ace sprinter Hima Das and Amlan Borgohain, who won gold medals in the women’s and men’s 200 meter race at the National Federation Cup Athletics in Kerala.
It may be noted that Hima Das won the gold medal in the women’s 200 meter race by 23.63 seconds. Amlan Borgohain on the other hand set a national record by winning a gold medal in 20.52 seconds in the men’s 200 meter race.
In a statement today, the Chief Minister said that the people of Assam are proud of the performance of the two players. He also expressed hope that the two athletes will continue their success in the coming days and wished them a bright future.
