Imphal: Manipur logged two Covid-related deaths, 217 positive cases (2216 general population,n one CAPF) and 315 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West and Thoubal respectively.
Both the deceased persons had co-morbidities; one of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2059.
Of the 216 persons from the general population who tested positive, 79 are from Imphal West, 46 from Imphal East, 23 from Thoubal, 17 from Bishnupur and Chandel, 15 from Churachandpur, 14 from Kakching, five each from Kangpokpi, Chandel and Ukhrul, three from Kamjong, two from Senapati and one each from Noney and Tengnoupal.
Altogether 1,756 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 12.1%
Meanwhile, 315 persons recovered and were discharged, 236 from home isolation, 66 from CCCs, 16 from JNIMS and seven from RIMS . The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.65 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1,34,661 out of which 1,28,809 have recovered, leaving 3,793 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on Feb 4, 2022, is 10,554, the cumulative number of doses administered is 25,54,897 (1st dose 14,50,494, 2nd dose 10,66,967) and precautionary dose 37,436.
There are a total of 300 Covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 77 are occupied while 223 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 52 are occupied and 138 are vacant.
