Shillong: The State also reported 361 more cases of recoveries which mounted the number of recovered cases to 85,917 in the State which has registered 89,841 confirmed cases so far.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said three Covid-19 related deaths in East Khasi Hills district, two in Eastern West Khasi Hills district and one in South West Khasi Hills district.
East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong, the most pandemic hit district recorded 197 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, with the district now having 1,466 active cases and 1,027 deaths. West Garo Hills district recorded 38 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday with the number of active cases in the district now at 422 followed by 13 new cases in Ri-Bhoi district, which has 183 active cases, 17 new cases in North Garo Hills district, the medical official said.
Moreover, he informed that seven new cases each were also detected in South Garo Hills district and North Garo Hills district, six new cases each in Eastern West Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district, five new cases each in South West Khasi Hills district and South West Garo Hills district and two new cases in East Garo Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.
On the other hand, 32,107 health care workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 29303 have been administered with the second dose and 5,180 have taken the third precaution dose, while 96,987 front-line workers have got the first jab, 85,041 have taken the second shot and 9,917 have got the precaution dose, even as 11,96,502 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose, 8,13,043 have been fully vaccinated with the second dose and 1,200 citizens have taken the booster dose across the state as on date, according to the National Health Mission record.Â
