Imphal: The Media fraternity in Manipur, both print and electronic media have resolved to boycott all news related to Manipur government, Ministers and MLAs of ruling government and political parties of the ruling government- the BJP, NPP and the NPF over non clearance of the government advertisement bills running into nearly Rs.10 crores.
The resolution was taken in a joint meeting of the Editors, members of Editors Guild Manipur, Manipur Hills Journalist Union and supported by the All Manipur Working Journalists Union.
The boycott will come into effect from January 10, 2022, if the government failed to clear the dues, said a press release issued by EGM and MHJU with the support of AMWJU.
In a latest development, the journalist bodies have conveyed that they have been called for a meeting by the Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, to discuss the matter.
