Minister Biswajit lays stone for five 33/11 KV sub-stations at Ukhrul

The foundation stone laying of 33\11 KV Sub-stations of  Tusom, Chingai, Somdal and Kachai was held virtually from Sinakeithei Football Ground.

Imphal: Manipur’s Power Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh Thursday laid foundation stone for the construction of 33\11 KV Sub-stations at Tusom, Chingai, Somdal, Kachai & Sinakeithei at the football Ground of Sinakeithei, Ukhrul District. 

The foundation stone laying of 33\11 KV Sub-stations of  Tusom, Chingai, Somdal and Kachai was held virtually from Sinakeithei Football Ground.

The programme is part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and was organized by Manipur State Power Company Limited.

Minister Biswajit also inaugurated a government guest house at Sinakeithei constructed by the State Public Work Department.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Biswajit stated that the government is successful in bridging the gap between the hill and the valley and acknowledging  womanhood in the State.

He highlighted various developmental programmes taken up by the government like Go to Hill, Go to village etc for the welfare of the people.

Minister Biswajit maintained that power is key to industrialization and the government is committed to provide uninterrupted quality power supply to the people. He asserted that it is very important to develop the border areas that is why the government is constructing power Sub Stations at Tusom, Somdal and Kachai.

He appreciated the efforts of the officials of both the company Manipur State power Company Limited and Manipur State power Distribution company Limited .Construction of all the five sub -Stations will be started by 2022.The people of Ukhrul district will be able to get quality power supply .

Biswajit also said that the government has provided health cards, has implemented various schemes like Saubhagya, PMAY(G) and has strengthened highways, air connectivity etc for the welfare of the people.

Delivering keynote address managing director of MSPCL N. Sarat singh stated that it is historic day for Ukhrul district as five sub-station is going to be constructed at one time.And the total cost of the project is around 60 crores .The Sub-Station will provide quality power supply

Various changes are taking place in the last 4 and half years in the power sector and both the company are in infancy status .Shri N.Sarat singh informed that they need to strengthen the collection part and appeal to the people to clear bills on time.

The purpose of constructing a power sub-station at Tusom is to give reliable supply of electricity to the consumers in Tusom and the surrounding villages like Wahong, Challow. Kongai, Razia Khullen, Razai Khunou etc.

Chingai sub-station will provide reliable power to the surrounding villages like Kuingai, Challou, poi, Huishu, Kamasom phungrei, Kalhang, Khuirei, Marem, Marangphung, Phungcham through a net-work of 11 KV line ensuring 24×7 power to all .

Somdal Sub-station will give reliable supply of electricity to the consumers in Somdal and the surrounding villages like Phungthar, Maichon, Huining, Tora, Champhung, Tanrui, Ngaimu.

The construction of the new 33\11 KV sub-station power supply at Kachai and  its adjoining areas like Hoomi, Theiva, Tingshong, Huime, Washangpung etc will be improved with appreciable  reduction in the losses. There will be considered improvement in the voltage profile too.

And the proposed 33\11 KV sub-station at Sinakeithei will be able to overcome the problems faced in supplying electricity to the consumers in Sinakeithei and the surrounding villages like Tingpibung ,Dongsun ,Leplen , Lhangjol ,Mongyang ,pasong etc.Today’s function was attended by Dr. Shailesh Kumar chourasia, IAS, Secretary Power, Ng. Subhachandra singh, MD MSPDCL. T. Rabindrakumar Singh, Chief Engineer (BUILDING) PWD. Officials of both MSPCL, MSPDCL, village authority of Sinakeithei among others.
