Arunachal reports two more COVID cases in past 24 hrs

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has reported two more Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the state’s tally of active cases to 19 and the overall count to 55,330, a senior state health department official said on Saturday.

Only one Covid-19 patient recuperated from the virus during the period. increasing the Northeastern state’s total number of recoveries to 55,031.

Of the fresh infections found out of 157 samples, one each was detected in Itanagar Capital Complex and Namsai district.

Both the cases – confirmed through rapid antigen tests – turned out to be asymptomatic, he said, adding that the infected included a National disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel.

On the inoculation front, Arunachal Pradesh has so far administered 14,55,492 COVID-19 vaccine doses, including 1171 jabs in the past 24 hours, to its eligible citizens aged 18 years and above since the launch of the nationwide vaccination drive in January.

As of date, altogether 8,08,456 beneficiaries have received the first dose and 6,47,036 were fully vaccinated, the state immunization officer Dimong Padung said.
