Arunachal reports 2 new COVID-19 cases

The northeastern-most state had not reported any new cases in the past three days.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh registered two fresh Coronavirus cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 55,322.

Meanwhile, three more COVID-19 patients were cured of the infection during the past 24 hours that upping the total number of recoveries to 55,020, a senior official of the state health department said.

The northeastern-most state had not reported any new cases in the past three days. The new cases, confirmed through TrueNat tests, were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex and the West Kameng district. Both the cases turned out to be asymptomatic, he said.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh’s cumulative vaccination coverage went past the 14.50-lakh mark with as many as 2,422 people receiving the COVID-19 vaccine jabs during the last 24 hours.

More than 8.07 lakh beneficiaries were administered the first dose of the vaccine, while 6.43 lakh people were fully vaccinated, State Immunization Officer Dr D Padung said.
