Three new COVID-19 cases, one recovery in Meghalaya

Shillong: Three new COVID-19 cases were detected and one more person has recovered from the viral disease were recorded on Thursday in Meghalaya.

Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that of the three new COVID-19 cases, two were detected in East Khasi Hills district and one from Armed Force/Paramilitary Force) in West Garo Hills district, taking the number of active cases to 20.

On the other hand, the number of recoveries has climbed up to 13, 793 with one more patient recovered from COVID-19.

Meghalaya has registered 13, 961 cases of COVID-19 so far, including 148 deaths and 20 active cases and 13,793 cases of recovery as on date.

Of the 3,65, 778 persons tested for COVID-19 as on Monday, 3,51, 817 persons were tested negative for the virus in the State, which had three containment zones where positive cases have been detected.

Meanwhile, 17, 168 health care workers across the State were vaccinated with the first dose and 3019 health care workers were inoculated with the second dose of Covishield.

Also, 20,855 frontline workers across the State have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far, with health department officials stating that there has been no adverse effect in any of those who have been vaccinated.
