Ludhiana: Ludhiana STF police have arrested two drug peddlers in two separate cases and recovered 800 grams of heroin from them.
SI Ram Pal said on Monday that on the basis of a tip-off, a man riding an Activa scooter in the Peru Banda area of Saleem Tabari was arrested with 590gms of heroin and drug money worth Rs 23,000. He has already come out of jail on bail in a drug trafficking case and has resumed his drug trafficking business.
In another case, a team led by ASI Bhupinder Singh Rana stopped a motorcyclist near Everest School in the Moti Nagar police station area and recovered 210gms of heroin from him. STF police have registered a case against both the accused and initiated further action.
According to sources, the value of heroin seized from the two accused in the international market is said to be more than Rs 4 crore.
