Imphal: The Editors Guild of India (EGI) is sending a three-member fact-finding team to Agartala, “concerned by the reports of draconian criminal laws being used to prevent media from reporting on acts of violence in the state of Tripura”.
The EGI team which include Bharat Bhushan, Pradip Phanjoubam and Sanjay Kapoor will meet government officials, media and members of civil society during their stay in Agartala, said a press release issued by EGI, signed by its president Seema Mustafa, general secretary Sanjay Kapoor and treasurer Anant Nath.
