Jaunpur: Three teenage sisters committed suicide by jumping before a train in Badlapur area at Fathupur crossing on Varanasi- Sultanpur rail section on late Thursday night, officials said on Friday.
Police here on Friday said that as per the preliminary report, the girls had a fight with their mother and thereafter they ran near the railway tracks and jumped before the train.
The deceased Priti(16), Aarti(14) and Kajal(13) were among the five sisters and they were facing acute poverty living in Ahirauli village under Maharajganj police station area. They had lost their father recently while the mother was blind.
Police reached the spot after midnight and recovered the bodies and a mobile phone near the bodies.
