New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday slammed Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president Om Prakash Rajbhar over his Muhammad Ali Jinnah remark and said he should go to Pakistan.

“Rajbhar ji ko Pakistan jana chahiye (Rajbhar ji should go to Pakistan),” Sarma, who is the convenor of BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) said while replying to a query on SBSP’s chief remark on Jinnah.

The reaction of the BJP leader comes a day after Rajbhar while talking to reporters in UP’s Varanasi had said that if Jinnah had been made the country’s first Prime Minister, the country would not have been partitioned.

He also called former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and senior BJP leader LK Advani as Jinnah’s fans.

Rajbhar’s party has forged an alliance with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) for the 2022 UP Assembly elections.
