Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati hit out at Samajwadi Party over the joining of the senior party leaders and claimed that these turnouts would not strengthen the SP at all and they should not be given assembly tickets.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, Mayawati said,” the inclusion of expelled people of BSP and other opposition parties in the SP is not going to increase the mass base of this party, instead it will decrease and weaken the party”.
She further said, ” the SP should know that taking such selfish and defecting type people in the party has led to annoyance among the old SP leaders, who are aspirants for assembly tickets.
BSP president said,” in such a situation, the MLAs of other parties and people must refrain from favouring the turncoats of getting tickets from the new party. It would be better if, the old leaders were given tickets rather than the turncoats.”
The reaction of Mayawati comes when SP president Akhilesh Yadav joined a big public rally in Ambedkar Nagar on Sunday where senior BJP leaders Lalji Verma and Ramachal Rajbhar joined the SP.
Earlier, Mayawati in a separate tweet on Sunday morning said,” BJP’s saying that ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas and sabka vishwas’ is not as a jumla. But how can people believe it when the farmers of the country are agitating and angry for a long time for the return of 3 agricultural laws”.
She said,” for the first time in three years, the Central Government has given some relief to the people on Diwali this time by reducing the excise tax nominally. Similarly, after Diwali, if the central government gives the gift of Diwali to the farmers of the country by withdrawing the three disputed agricultural laws, then it will be better.”
