Pakistan reports 955 new COVID-19 cases, 29 more deaths

The number of active cases has dropped to 43,352 who are under treatment across the country, while 2,644 are in critical condition.

Islamabad: Pakistan on Friday confirmed 955 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said on Saturday.

The NCOC, a department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic, said that the country has conducted 19,827,048 tests so far and confirmed a total of 1,257,188 cases, including 1,185,749 recoveries.

The number of active cases has dropped to 43,352 who are under treatment across the country, while 2,644 are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 29 people on Friday, taking the death toll to 28,087.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country with 462,295 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 435,512 cases.
