Bhopal: Amid speculation regarding his health, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Kamal Nath said on Saturday that he is absolutely fit.
“I suffered pneumonia, which can happen to anyone. Subsequently, a complete check-up revealed that I am healthy. I was in New Delhi as I have answerability there also. It does not mean that I was ill and recuperating. Regarding the selection of candidates for by-elections, we conducted surveys and had deliberations. The names will be announced soon,” the former chief minister told the press at the Congress state office.
According to a National Crime Records Bureau report, this state is ‘number one vis-à-vis atrocities against tribes and farmers’ suicides, he said, adding that no category is safe, including the small traders.
“Inflated power bills are being received. On this day we raise the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ but we must see where our peasant stands,” Mr Nath said.
In the context of the next general election, he said that it would be for saving the country’s culture.
