Pakistan reports 1,664 new COVID-19 cases, 46 more deaths

Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday confirmed 1,664 new COVID-19 cases and 46 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said.

The NCOC said the country’s number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,248,202, including 1,173,437 those who have recovered.

The number of active cases has dropped to 46,934 who are under treatment across the country, while 3,511 are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 46 people on Friday, increasing the overall death toll to 27,831.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 458,697 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 432,190 infections.
