New Delhi: India logged 33,376 new cases and 308 deaths due to the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the union health ministry said on Saturday.
The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,32,08,330 whereas the death toll has climbed to 4,42,317 according to the data.
The daily positivity rate of the infection has fallen to 1.18 per cent in the country while the active cases have remained under 4 lakh after declining by 870 cases, as per the health ministry’s bulletin.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,91,516. The share of active cases now stands at 1.18 per cent of the total Covid-19 cases, the figures showed.
Meanwhile, 32,198 more people recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours making the recovery registry climb to 3,23,744,97. As per the data, the recovery rate stands at 97.49 per cent
The union ministry stated that the weekly positivity rate (2.26 per cent) has been under 3 per cent for 78 days now.
A total of 54,01,96,989 samples were tested up to September 10, 2021, for Covid-19. Of these, 15,92,135 samples were tested on Friday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 73 crores.
“More than 56 lakh (56,91,552) Vaccine Doses have been administered on Friday making the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reach a cumulative figure of 72,97,50,724 as per provisional reports,” the ministry said.
