Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday, Manipur reported 4 Covid related deaths, 387 new positive cases (384 general population, 3 CAPF) and 419 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
3 of the persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal East while the other one is from Imphal West. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 5 deaths now stands at 1,779.
Three of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while none of them had been vaccinated.
The 384 persons (185 males, 199 females) from the general the population who tested positive include 161 from Imphal West, 52 from Imphal East, 38 from Churachandpur, 35 from Thoubal, 30 from Pherzawl, 16 from Tamenglong, 14 each form Kakching and Bishnupur, 10 from Ukhrul, 8 from Chandel, 5 from Senapati, 2 from Noney and 1 each from Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal.
Altogether, 3,469 persons were tested amounting to a the positivity rate of 11.2 %.
Meanwhile, 419 persons were discharged which include 168 from home isolation, 158 from CCCs, 74 from CHICs, 14 from JNIMS and 5 from RIMS.
The recovery rate in the state further improves to 95.44 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,13,328 (General Population – 1, 09,221, Central Security Personnel – 4,107). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 08,161 (General Population – 1, 04,075, Central Security Personnel – 4,086). The number of active cases is 3,388 (General Population – 3,372, Personnel – 16).
The total number of persons vaccinated on August 28, 2021, is 7,161and the cumulative number vaccination is 15,18,836 (1st dose 11,84,851, 2nd dose 3,33,895)
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 29, is 462 which include 382 general beds and 80 ICU/HDU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on August 29 is 3547 out of which 747 are occupied and 2800 are vacant.
