Imphal: A team of Narcotic police arrested two Assamese along with 390 grams of heroin powers from Kakching Lamkhai along NH-1 on Wednesday evening.
The two accused – Abdul Laskar, 34, and Tachinul Amin Laskar, 23, both were residents of Cachar district, Assam, were arrested along with 30 soap caps containing suspected heroin powder No. 4 weighing 390 grams (approx) from their possession.
The police party also seized one Toyota Etios car bearing registration No. AS10A-4626 in silver colour, three mobile phones, one Aadhaar card and one Voter ID from them.
Last week, Manipur police also arrested three persons from the Canchipur area near Heijingang Super Market along the Imphal-Moreh sector of the National Highway-2 while they were trying to smuggle huge quantities of Covishield vaccine vials, Remdesivir and other medicines to Myanmar.
