Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led the second successive BJP–led government in Assam completed 100 days in office on Friday.
Talking to media persons here on completion of 100 days, Mr. Sarma said that over 1 crore 21 lakh COVID 19 vaccinations are administered in this period in the state.
Listing out achievements of his government, Mr Sarma said that BJP government has kept the poll promise of micro finance loan waiver and an MOU in this regard will be signed with the banks tomorrow to waive off the loans.
The chief minister mentioned that during this period the newly formed militant group National Liberation Front of Bodoland has returned to the mainstream.
Sarma announced that from next month, 1000 rupees would be given to the beneficiary of Orunodoi scheme from the existing 830 rupees.
The Orunodoi scheme was launched in October 2020. The scheme provides financial assistance of Rs. 830 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme to around 17 Lakh families in the state.
Sarma informed that from now onwards one cabinet meeting every month will be held at district headquarters. He said that history and geography have been made compulsory for 9th and 10th standard students.
Sarma also announced one-time compensation to bus drivers, priests and artists who were affected due to COVID 19 induced lockdown.
The chief minister handed over appointment letters to the family members of 6 martyred police persons who lost their lives in Assam Mizoram border.
