Manipur registers 6 deaths, 369 positive cases, 578 recoveries Wednesday

Three of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.

Imphal: Manipur recorded just six covid related deaths for the third day running while also registering 369 new positive cases (364 general population, 5 CAPF) in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday. During the same period, 578 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

Of the six persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, one each of them belonged to Imphal East, Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal West and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state with these six deaths now stands at 1,728.

Three of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.

The 364 persons (174 males, 190 females) from the general population who tested positive include 135 from Imphal West, 77 from Imphal East, 62 from Bishnupur, 18 each from Churachandpur and Thoubal, 16 from Ukhrul, 15 from Kakching, 7 from Tamenglong, 6 from Kangpokpi, 4 each from Noney and Pherzawl, 2 each from Jiribam and Kamjong and 1 each from Senapati and Chandel.

Altogether, a total of 3,700 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 10.0 % in the state on Wednesday.

 Meanwhile, 578 persons were discharged which include 231 from home isolation, 148 from CHICs, 145 from CCCs, 7 from JNIMS and 47 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 93.38 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,09,317(General Population – 1, 05,236, Central Security Personnel – 4,081). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,02,083(General Population – 98,067, Central Security Personnel – 4,016). The number of active cases is 5,506(General Population – 5,666, Personnel – 60).

Altogether 4,586 were vaccinated on August 17, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 54,182(1st dose 11,71,305, 2nd dose 2,82,877).

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 18, is 348 which include 280general beds and 68 ICU/HDU beds.
