Imphal: Singtom village under Chakpikarong Sub-Division of Chandel district has become the first Covid-19 fully vaccinated village in the entire district.
Singtom village has 77 households with a population of 394. It has 174 eligible persons to take the Covid-19 vaccine, out of which 173 eligible persons have taken Covid-19 vaccines which included seven pregnant women, nine lactating mothers, with only one person who was found Covid-19 positive being left out, as the person is not eligible to take the vaccine at the moment, said a statement issued by Mayanglambam Rajkumar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel district on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the district administration has expressed its sincere appreciation to the support given by the Sub-Divisional Officer-Chakpikarong, the chief of Singtom village, Zou Civil organizations – Joint Task Force Zou Youth Organization (ZYO) and Zou Sangnoupang Pawlpi (ZSP) and District Health Society Team the for their untiring efforts which made it possible, said Rajkumar.
