Imphal: Manipur finds no respite from the ravages of the coronavirus pandemic. The state once again registered over a thousand positive cases of 1,207 in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday.
It also reported 13 more Covid related deaths and 864 recoveries during the same time, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Of the 1207 total positive cases, 1203 were from the general population while 4 were personnel of the Central Armed Police Force. 325 out of the total positive cases from the general population belonged to Imphal West, 294 to Imphal East, 106 to Thoubal, 105 to Churachandpur, 99 to Bishnupur, 58 to Kakching, 44 to Chandel, 54 to Kangpokpi, 40 to Tamenglong, 28 to Noney 17 to Tengnoupal, 14 each to Jiribam and Ukhrul, 3 to Senapati and 1 to Pherzawl.
Altogether 8,327 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 14.5 %.
Of the 13 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, three of them are from Imphal West, two each from Chandel, Kakching and Thoubal and one each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Imphal East and Tamenglong. The cumulative Covid related death toll in the state now stands at 1,478.
Meanwhile, of the 864 persons who were discharged, 315 of them were on home isolation, 311 were from CHICs, 229 from CCCs and 7 from JNIMS and 2 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 86.98% on Friday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 92,667(General Population – 88,701, Central Security Personnel – 3,966). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 80,608(General Population – 76,711, Central Security Personnel – 3,897). The number of active cases is 10,581(General Population – 10,517, Personnel – 64).
30,667persons were vaccinated on June July 24, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 11,94,736(1st dose 10,29,436, 2nd dose 1,65,300).
