Childline Advisory Board meeting held at Mon

Childline Mon is part of a National Programme which was launched in Mon on August 2020, to assist, aid and rescue children in distress through a 24/7 Toll free no 1098.

Kohma: Mon Childline Advisory Board (CAB) held a meeting on Tuesday at DC Office, Conference Room, Mon Town under the chairmanship of DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS.

Childline Mon is part of a National Programme which was launched in Mon on August 2020, to assist, aid and rescue children in distress through a 24/7 Toll free no 1098. Childline teams on receiving a distress call arrives at the destination within 60 minutes and depending on the case, rehabilitation and constant follow up on the well-being of the child is provided. Childline reaches out to children from 0-18 years of age and in extreme emergency cases, up to 25 years of age.

Mon Childline team gave a presentation about the basic concept and functioning of the programme and its achievement since its inception which include one child abuse case and support to 28 families during the pandemic. The Childline team also made an appeal to all the line Departments to help them in their various capacities so as to make the programme more visible and efficient. DC Mon addressed all the issues raised by the team and assure them full cooperation and support to resolve them.

The meeting was attended by officers of various departments and members of the Board.
