Imphal: The State Cabinet at its meeting held Wednesday at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat approved the modification of scheme area of the National Games Village, Meitei Langol for construction of Temporary Government Quarters to relocate Government Employees staying at Tribal Colony Quarter, Checkon, Imphal East and also decided to carry out the construction of Government Residential Quarters, Tribal Colony at New Checkon with Planning and Development Authority (PDA) as implementing agency.
The meeting also discussed the mechanism of release of loan by borrowing agency to implementing agency.
Apart from this, the State Cabinet agreed to transfer 600 acres of land from Tea Estate at Jiribam under the Department of Textiles, Commerce & Industries, Government of Manipur to Power Department (MANIREDA) for development of 100 MW Solar Photo Voltaic Power Plant under the 15th Finance Commission.
Implementation of “Development, Customization Deployment and Management of State-Wise Vehicle Tracking Platform for safety and enforcement with AIS-140 specification” in the State under NIRBHAYA FRAMEWORK by MANITRON was also approved at the meeting.
The Cabinet also reviewed its earlier decision on abolition/de-cadrement of 70 posts of BDOs from the Schedule-I of Manipur Civil Service Rules, 1965.
For the Home Department, the Cabinet approved the recommended site for construction of Battalion Headquarters of 11th India Reserve Battalion at Saivom Village, Tengnoupal District. The meeting also approved to appoint Lisham Gitchandra Singh, younger brother of (Late) Lisham Premchand Singh, Inspector in Manipur Police Department as a Sub Inspector in Manipur Police Department on compassionate ground.
The Cabinet approved the amendment in the Manipur Startup Scheme with the objective of promoting 5000 entrepreneurs, establishment of CSIR-CFTRI Resource Centre at Imphal, implementation of MLALAD programme in vacant Assembly constituencies through Deputy Commissioners. The Cabinet also approved amendment of Manipur Forest Rules, 2021 for strengthening protection of forests and for amending Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005.
