Agartala: The Tripura government has started teleconsultation to Covid infected patients remaining at home isolation through eSanjivani OPD portal. The doctors would provide them with medical advice and prescriptions besides psychological counselling.
The Mission Director of NHM Tripura, Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said that the eSanjivani OPD portal for Covid 19 patients under home isolation was operational two days ago and the department has taken an initiative to popularise the service. The patients are getting services between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs every day.
“As per the report, a sizable number of patients are getting advice from the experts, which is believed to reduce the pressure on hospitals and help for better monitoring of Covid patients,” Dr Jaiswal said adding that the state government through NHM has increased the health extension service in manifold during the second wave of Covid-19.
Tripura has no shortage of oxygen and hospital beds including ICU beds for treating critical patients in all major hospitals at Agartala.
About a thousand beds are kept ready in Covid Care Centres in different districts for moderate patients and mild patients are advised to remain at home and keep contact with doctors, Dr Jaiswal added.
